Producing a standard glass insulator begins with melting high-purity silica sand and raw materials in a furnace. The molten glass is pressed into molds and rapidly cooled (tempered) to create compressive surface stress, boosting mechanical strength and ensuring safe fragmentation if broken. After rigorous thermal and visual inspections, the durable glass shells are assembled with metal caps and pins using high-strength cement. The process concludes with mechanical and electrical testing to ensure reliability before shipment.
