Huzhou Tailun Insulator Co., Ltd. is a toughened glass insulator manufacturer based in Huzhou, Zhejiang, China. Since its establishment in 2006, the company has focused on the research, development, production and global supply of disc suspension toughened glass insulators. As a national high-tech enterprise, we serve power grid operators, engineering contractors and distributors supplying overhead power transmission projects.
Our glass insulator factory is located in Huzhou Economic Development Zone, covering 130 mu, approximately 86,700 square metres, with a registered capital of RMB 150 million. The automated production base has an annual capacity of 4 million toughened glass insulators. Our team includes more than 156 employees and senior insulator specialists who receive special government allowances in China.
Comprehensive Product Line of Toughened Glass Insulators
We manufacture disc suspension toughened glass insulators in standard, anti-pollution, aerodynamic, earth-wire, double-shed and triple-shed designs. Our product range includes mechanical strength ratings from 70 kN to 530 kN. Representative models include U70BLP, U80BLP, U100BS, U120BP, U160BL, U210BP, U240BP, U300B, U400BP and U530B.
Customers can explore our standard glass insulators and double-shed glass insulators for available configurations. Our products serve projects across voltage levels from 10 kV to 1000 kV, with individual models and complete string arrangements selected according to project requirements. This application range does not represent the voltage rating of a single disc.
Our 70–240 kN double-shed toughened glass insulators have been appraised as reaching a leading domestic level by the China Electricity Council. Tailun has independently developed double-shed and triple-shed designs and also has research and development capabilities for glass composite insulators.
Controlled raw materials and precise toughening processes support mechanical strength and long-term outdoor service. The visible shattering of a damaged glass shell helps maintenance teams identify affected units during line inspections.
Advanced Production and Testing Capacity
Our automated production lines use industrial robots to support consistent operation during manufacturing. Major equipment includes feeding machines imported from the UK, multi-station glass pressing machines, 20-station glass toughening machines, tunnel furnaces, assembly machines and mixing equipment. These facilities support glass forming, toughening and assembly for bulk production.
Our testing laboratory is equipped with power-frequency test sets, lightning impulse systems, tensile testing machines, temperature-cycle devices, zinc-coating inspection equipment, volume-resistance testers and dimensional measuring tools. We have also introduced 1350 kV steep-wave test equipment to support electrical testing.
Inspection covers raw materials, semi-finished components and finished products. Routine inspection and sampling are carried out according to the applicable product requirements. Relevant international references include IEC 60383-1 for AC ceramic and glass insulator testing and acceptance and IEC 60305 for cap-and-pin insulator characteristics. Applicable GB/T and IEC editions are confirmed through the technical documents for each order.
